New Times Beerfest 2011 Features Sister Hazel
We all love beer, and even though it’s not October, there’s no reason not to celebrate the suds. Now add in the classic rock band from Gainesville, Sister Hazel, and you’ve got a party!
And here in South Florida, we do it up with the New Times Beer Fest 2011.
The 14th-annual New Times “Original” Beerfest Presented by Isle Casino returns on Saturday, November 12, 2011, from 7 to 11 p.m. to Esplanade Park, 400 SW Second St. (in front of the Museum of Discovery and Science).
The Beerfest, the oldest and largest in the area, offers guests craft beer, live music, good food, and great times. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Broward County, whose mission is to provide shelter, aid and responsible adoptions to animals and to educate the community about respect and kindness to all animals.
This year, 4,500 young professionals and beer aficionados will descend on Esplanade Park in downtown Fort Lauderdale to sample 100 of the world’s best local and international beers while enjoying music from a live band and special offers from local restaurants including Bru’s Room, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Riverside Market Café, JC Wahoo’s, Jack’s Bar-B-Q Smokehouse, & Moby Rick’s Rock n Roll Bar-B-Que. Local Big 105.9 radio personality Doc Reno will host the event.
The annual event has loads of participants and vendors, from many varieties of beer, ales, and other beverages, to foods from area restaurants and don’t forget the bands, baby!
It’s a fired-up party that has been popular for 14 years, and it’s time to get it going again, it seems everyone who has a hankering for good beer, food and music have been Tweeting, blogging, and Facebooking about the event.
For starters, there are over 30 different beer labels to be tasted, from Budweiser, Heineken, and Samuel Adams to micro-brewed beers like Monk In The Trunk Organic Amber Ale, and Young’s Double Chocolate Stout.

Hi Joyce, I understand that the Beerfest was postponed until November so you may want to hold off on buying tickets.
