Pompano Beach Seafood Festival 2012Pompano Beach Seafood Festival 2012 Come Celebrate the 28th Annual Event!

We here in South Florida LOVE our seafood, and we always look forward to this very special foodie event.

Pompano Beach and the surrounding areas are known for the best and freshest seafood, and there are a variety of local restaurants that participate, showing off their prowess in creating delicious, delectable crab, fish, shrimp, and shellfish offerings.

This year the festivities are in an all new location right by the pier!

The arts and crafts are always a crowd favorite, from cool, funky clothing, to designers of jewelry, and fun stuff for your outdoor living spaces, the local vendors always have something new and creative for us to check out.

There are always live music all weekend, and this year we’ve the great classic southern rock band, 38 Special headlining. Standing or sitting in a beach chair, kicking back and enjoying a beverage and some great local seafood is just the weekend ticket.

Perfect weather, the ocean as a backdrop, and local vendors round out the attractiveness of this popular happening. Kids under 10 years old get in free, and they seem to really love this, too.

Bring your appetite and be ready to party, eat, drink, shop and be merry. There is such a great atmosphere in Pompano Beach, it’s just North of Fort Lauderdale, and believe me when I tell you, we Lauderdalians share the love of all things seafood with our neighbor up there.

The fishing is fantastic, and the beaches are beautiful. The town of Pompano Beach is a thriving, yet chill place to hang out. There are many different restaurants there, and they will be representing themselves at the Seafood Festival this year as usual.

Bring a beach chair, your loved ones and friends, and come experience the 28th Annual Pompano Beach Seafood Festival 2012.

If you’ve never been to the event, you will be in for a treat, and we who wouldn’t miss it, never tire of great food, friends, and the atmosphere of the beach, music, food, and fun. You can’t go wrong. We end up taking home some yummy Stone Crabs, they are always the winner for me, the bigger, the better.

Whatever type of seafood you enjoy, you won’t be disappointed, and remember, have fun!

I was just at the Pompano Beach Seafood festival this weekend and I have been driving from Miami to this awesome event for 10 years! I have got to say the food this year was rockin’! I only tried a few places and of course it was hot so the drink areas and ice cream were great to cool my husband and I down, but this year we tried a new booth called Nawlins Fusion and we will never eat at any other place again. The owner of the booth let us try samples of the food and it had an awesome flavor. The cajun spices were something that really had my husband hooked and best of all we watched them cook our food right in front of us (which is comforting considering the other booths had their food sitting out all day long). I had the portabella mushroom with the seafood stuffing and my husband had a fried shrimp po’boy and it was delicious. After we watched a few performances and walked by the vendors on the beach we went back to get beignets and they were amazing. Definitely the best food I’ve ever had at the Seafood Fest. The owner said they would be at the Sunfest in my hometown of Miami and I can not wait to go back and get more food! I would definitely recommend that everyone goes to try this food.

  • Katrina you are so right. I thought the food this year was the best ever. Fresh and just great tasting. Even the fried stuff was lighter than usual. Kudos to whoever was the cooking consultant as somebody obviously showed the vendors how to up their game. The change was noticeable!

  • I bought the most amazing seasoning, called Crabby John’s, if someone knows how I can get in touch, I accidentaly threw out my container with then info and my brochure is missing, please help
